Post 253 Baseball Tryout for Summer 2021
Festus Post 253 Baseball will hold tryouts for players who are not currently playing for the 19u or 16u team for Summer 2021 on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Butch Lucas Field at West City Park! All players from the Crystal City, Herculaneum, Festus, and Jefferson School Districts, as well as those attending St. Pius X, and those living in the Hillsboro School District whose residence is closer to Festus High School than DeSoto High School are eligible to tryout.
The makeup tryout date for will be Sunday, August 2, 2020. Please note that this date is only a makeup date for those who are unable to attend on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, or we will use this as a makeup date in the event that inclement weather forces the cancellation of the July 28 date. PLAYERS WILL ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE OF THE TRYOUT DATES.
Tryout Times
Tuesday, July 28, 2020 - 5:30-8:00pm, Butch Lucas Field at West City Park. (RAINED OUT, RESCHEDULED FOR 8/2)
Sunday, August 2, 2020 - 5:00-7:30pm, Butch Lucas Field at West City Park.
Age Requirements for American Legion Baseball.
Freshmen – Must be at least 13 by 1/1/21 and not turn 16 prior to 5/1/21
Junior – Must be at least 13 by 1/1/21, and not turn 17 prior to 1/1/21
Senior - Must not turn 19 prior to 1/1/21
Players can pre-register for tryouts by clicking THIS LINK and are encouraged to do so.
Additionally, ALL PLAYERS WILL NEED A COVID-19 WAIVER SIGNED BY THE PLAYER AND A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN IN ORDER TO TRYOUT. This form will be available on the day of tryouts, or can be downloaded, printed, and completed prior to tryouts.

What do I need for tryouts?
All players should bring:

2. Baseball Cap
3. Cleats
4. Batting Helmet
5. Bat
6. Glove(s)
7. Cather's Gear - for catcher's only
8. Signed and Completed COVID 19 Waiver.
9. Cup and any other protective equipment
10. Personal Water Bottle
