Post 253 Senior Team Finishes 3rd at Missouri State Tournament!

The Post 253 Seniors team capped off the summer of 2017 with a 3rd place finish at the Missouri State Tournament at Liberty Park in Sedalia, MO. Post 253 finished the year 27-11, and claimed the District 13 and Zone 4 Championships en route to Sedalia.
District 13 Tournament
Game 1 - Post 253 6, Rock Memorial 2 - Post 253 opened game one of the tournament with a 6-2 win over Rock Memorial. Sean McDowell, Blain Prater and Zach Richardson each had 2 hits, with Prater hitting a first inning home run to get Post 253 on the board. Andrew Douglas pitched 7 and 1/3 innings to get the win, with Prater finishing the final 1 and 2/3 to earn the save.
Game 2 - Post 253 9, Ste Genevieve 1 - Post 253 advanced to the District 13 Tournament Championship game with a 9-1 win over Ste. Genevieve Post 150. The offense banged out 14 hits, with every started having at least 1 hit in the game, with Jaden Courtois, Blain Prater, Brennan Pryor, Matt Rosen and Chandler Dix having multi-hit games. Blain Prater went the distance on the mound allowing 1 run on 4 hits to earn the win.
Game 3 - Post 253 19, Bonne Terre 9 - Post 253 closed out the District 13 Tournament Championship with an 8 inning run rule victory over Bonne Terre. The offense had 18 hits, with Collin Mann (4 hits, 3 RBI) and Zac Meyer (2 hits, 8 RBI) leading the way. Donovan McDonough went 6 innings to earn the win on the mound.
Zone 4 Tournament
Game 1 - Post 253 9, Cape Girardeau 1 - Blain Prater and Sean McDowell had 2 hits each and Andrew Douglas pitched a complete game, scattering 6 hits to earn the win in the opening game of the Zone 4 Tournament.
Game 2 - Post 253 14, Jackson 5 - Post 253 advanced to the Zone 4 Tournament Championship game behind 3 doubles fro Blain Prater, who also went 8 and 1/3 innings on the mound to earn the win. Jaden Courtois, Sean McDowell, Zac Meyer and Collin Mann also had multi hit games.
Game 3 - Post 253 13, Jackson 9 - Post 253 claimed the Zone 4 Tournament Championship and advanced to the Missouri State Tournament by defeating Jackson for the second time in three days. Donovan McDonough earned the win on the mound, with Brennan Pryor picking up the save.
Missouri State Tournament
Game 1 - Post 253 7, Lee's Summit 5 - Post 253 took the opening game of the Missouri State Tournament behind 6 and 2/3 from Blain Prater. Brennan Pryor pitched the 9th inning to earn the save. Cameron Beck and Matt Rosen recorded multi-hit games, with Beck driving in 2 runs.
Game 2 - Jefferson City 5, Post 253 2 - Post 253 fell to eventual State Champion Jefferson City despite a tremendous outing by Andrew Douglas. Sean McDowell had 2 hits and Matt Rosen drove in both runs for Post 253.
Game 3 - Lee's Summit 4, Post 253 3 - In a back and forth affair, Post 253 fell 4 to 3 to Lee's Summit. Zac Meyer had 2 hits, and Donovan McDonough pitched 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing only 6 hits and 2 runs.
